24 Hours Later...

Yesterday morning, it was crisp and bright but by the time we went to bed, clouds were rolling in and it was starting to snow harder and harder. When I woke up, we had about six inches of snow. Naturally, I am delighted and made Christopher go on a pilgrimage on foot to the bakery this morning (he was less delighted, being that snow isn't as novel to him). I decided, following Elisabeth, that Bean boots count as outerwear and not part of the 30 (and I definitely couldn't make it a mile in the Steve Madden boots). And because someone will always ask, I was wearing a coat (see below) and I was freezing when Christopher snapped the top shots, but luckily they didn't take long :) It is still snowing hard outside now, so I'm planning on spending the day curled up by the window reading Evelyn Waugh and watching the snow. Nerd heaven!

On Wednesday night, the man-who-hates-necklaces and I took a break from our books for a little date (by the way, I boasted to him yesterday about how much you all liked the necklace--I knew I was right:) ). We rode our bicycles to a huge nearby park to explore.



I wanted to take pictures of the foliage, which never ceases to thrill me because I grew up in California without seasons. On the way, I asked Christopher to stop so I could play in a pile of leaves like a 6 year-old.



Then while Christopher set up the tripod in a really pretty clearing, I collected the biggest and brightest leaves I could find.



And then we took schmoopy photos together. The end :)

Happy October!

To celebrate the start of October, Christopher and I went apple-picking on Friday. I was super-excited because I'm a city slicker and have never been apple-picking.



I wanted to be able to climb the trees (who knew you don't have to climb them to get the apples?) so I wore jeans and comfy flats.

Even though I dressed in autumnal colors, this isn't really an outfit post (and not only because I got dressed to climb trees rather than to look cute). It's an overwhelming-happiness-that-my-favorite-month-is-here post! I luurrve October! Any other October lovers out there? xo
